TDY Fuel

The Tax Free Fuels Program is authorized under very strict controls by the Status of Forces Agreement.  Based on the requirements of that document and various subsequent instructions, the Motor Vehicle Registration Office (MVRO) must verify the eligibility of all personnel requiring TAD/TDY fuel.

The following Documents are REQUIRED IAW NAVSUPPACT Inst 10340.1G and 10340.8D:

1. Original or Certified Copy of TAD/TDY orders with a valid endorsement authorizing a rental car of POV.  No gas will be authorized on expired orders.
2. Rental Contract or POV Registration.
3. ID card, Drivers License, and Italian Translation of Driver's License.
4. Memorandum from OIC or Commanding Officer with Itinerary of Official Travel, including lodging, work site, and any other official travel for the period of TAD/TDY.  The gas coupons are calculated based on the mileage.  A maximum of 170 liters per month is authorized.

NOTES

NOTE 1: "No Cost Permissive TAD/TDY Orders" are not entitled to tax-free fuel products.

NOTE 2: "NATO Travel Orders: DO NOT receive fuel authorization from MVRO, but may receive fuel authorization from the AFSouth NATO Travel Office located in building L.

NOTE 3: German fuel coupons are not authorized by the MVRO Office, but may be obtained from the NEX.
